Unwind, Enjoy, and Relax

Life is stressful on its own, but now, with the pandemic and shelter in place orders, the regular stress feels amplified. People are losing their jobs, loved ones are getting sick, and everything feels out of control. That’s enough to make even the most stress-free person grab a brown paper sack to breathe into!

It’s more important now than ever to find ways to manage our stress, to relax, and unwind. Stress can do more damage to your body than just cause anxiety. It can lead to insomnia, headaches, and even high blood pressure. With the threat of COVID-19, the last thing you want is to open yourself to health issues.

Here are some ways you can take your mind off your stressors so that you can unwind, enjoy, and relax.

Try some CBD products.

CBD products are all the rage in the health and wellness industry, and chances are you’ve seen it at a store or even a gas station. CBD comes from a hemp plant and contains no THC, which is the psychoactive ingredient in cannabis. While new things are being discovered about CBD all the time, research has shown that it can be beneficial in helping lower stress and anxiety.

If you’re new to trying hemp CBD flower, that’s okay! There are many ways you can try CBD, such as smoking or vaporizing it. There are different CBD products to choose from, and Plain Jane offers a wide variety from tinctures to salves and CBD oil. They also have different strains of hemp flower you can try, as each strain has different flavors and different levels of potency, therefore causing different effects. No matter how you choose to take CBD, whether it’s as CBD oil, eating gummies, or smoking hemp flowers, you’re sure to feel calmer when you try CBD products.

Go for a walk.

Being outdoors can boost your mood, and doing a bit of light physical activity will flood your brain with happy hormones. Going for a walk can reduce that looming feeling of dread, it can help you feel creative, and it’s just good for you! Enjoy the world and nature around you, and soak it in. Plus it’s a safe activity you can do while practicing social distancing, too.

Have a drink.

Nothing is wrong with treating yourself to some alcoholic beverages, especially during quarantine! A shot of tequila and some margaritas are a sure-fire way to unwind after a long day. Be your own bartender! Plan a night with your friends and have a FaceTime party! Stock up on your favorites from the liquor store, whether your drink is vodka, cognac, beer, rum, or whatever type of alcohol you prefer, and enjoy the night together with some games or just hanging out.

Write down your thoughts.

Keeping a journal is a great way to get some stuff from your chest and unwind. Take some time to write down the things that have been stressing you out, and you’ll be surprised at how light you feel afterward. It doesn’t have to poetic or meaningful, and you don’t have to have a special notebook. You can use what’s available, or even the notes section on your phone. Just focus on expressing yourself to release that stress.

Take a hot bath.

A hot bath can literally melt away your stress from the day and help you relax. Treat yourself to a bubble bath, or even toss in a CBD bath bomb or a few drops of CBD oil for some extra stress reliving goodness! Light some candles and put on some relaxing spa music, and just let your worries soak away.

Play video games.

Even if you’re not big on video games, it can be a fun way to unwind after a long day. There are so many games out there that you can find something you’ll enjoy. They’re engaging and can boost your dopamine levels, which makes you feel good! Depending on the type of game you play, it can create a flow state which is similar to meditation. So if meditation isn’t your thing, try video games.

It’s important to take time to relax and unwind, or else life can quickly becoming overwhelming. So sip some aged whiskey and kick your feet up!
